Our long term goal will be:

Build a strong community of Bo District Descendants in the United Kingdom, united to rebuild their District.

  • Build an effective leadership team that emphasizes excellence in every area of their lives.

  • Build orphanages and facilitate foster parenthood for street children.

  • Equip existing schools.

  • Provide and facilitate training for women in basic civic issues, sensitize them about their rights and roles in developments.

  • Collaborate with other agencies to support local hospitals through personnel and materials, build peripheral health centers and health units, train TBAs, etc.

  • Promote public health education and practices.

  • Establish trade schools where basic skills that enhance middle manpower development are taught (bakery, carpentry, computer, masonry, motor vehicle operators, tailoring, hairdressing, market gardening, etc).

  • Organize seminars to teach basic business management skills like banking and savings, bookkeeping, etc. on the farms, in the villages, in the towns to farmers, tailors, carpenters, etc.

  • Developing cooperatives to harness local resources (diamond, cocoa, coffee, etc)

  About us

The Bo District Development Association (BODDA) was formed on 07th September 2003 at the Aylesbury Access Centre, Unit 7 Thurlow Street, London SE17 2UZ by a group of natives from Bo District in Sierra Leone. The primary purpose for the formation of this organization is for its membership to explore every possible lawful avenue to solicit generous donations in cash, food, clothing, educational and agricultural materials and equipment to help improve the lives of the people of Bo District particularly and Sierra Leone in general. The organization is a registered Charity with registration number 1120683.

Our Objectives:

The Bo District Development Association (BODDA – UK) objectives are: -


Ø      The relief of poverty, sickness and distress and the advancement of education of Sierra Leoneans and their descendants in Bo Town Sierra Leone and the UK
Ø      To advance the education and training of Sierra Leoneans and their descendants in the UK, to assist them in life and help them adapt to life within their new communities
Ø     
To advance the education of the public in the history and culture of Sierra Leone and Africa in general.

Our Mission:

The Bo District Development Association (BODDA – UK) is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to improve the quality of life of underprivileged and impoverished children and youth in Bo District and Sierra Leone in general. 

We are committed to serving the people of the District of Bo. We realize the need for rapid reconstruction of our communities. Therefore, we desire to establish a system that will facilitate grass root education, social and economic empowerment for a more sustainable and stable lifestyle of our people.
